On the Thursday after Nicky was born, that would be 9th February I believe, Nicky's Grandma and Grandpa ("GnG") arrived in Singapore to see their first born grandchild...oh, and of course Kristian and me!
Well I should mention that Mum, that is Nicky's Grandma, thinks that "Grandma" is a tad daggy and well quite frankly "old" sounding. She is, by the way, a very very young Grandma. Anyways, prior to Nicky's birth she had been coming up with lots of creative alternatives such as Lao Lao (Mandarin) and some name which I cannot recall, but it was something like Anushka, which is apparently Eskimo for Grandma. Hmmm, I think that we will let Nicky decide what he would like to call her. Will he stick with the conventional Grandma or go for something a bit more "out there" I wonder...
GnG came laiden with pressies for Nicky and also a very very special bottle, being none other than a bottle of Grange Hermitage which Dad had been cellaring in anticipation of the arrival of their first grandchild. We cracked it open and savoured it together with some delectable French cheeses, unpasteurised I might add - yum yum!
GnG stayed for five days and we basically just hung out with the Nickster. Nicky basically just slept and ate and slept and ate and in his waking hours, which were not too many, entertained us, by, well quite simply being very very cute.
